Have you heard Christians say, ‘I don’t take nonsense‘, ‘Just don’t look for my trouble‘, ‘I did not receive madness alongside the christian faith‘? Some would even quote scriptures to back up their intolerant attitude. The truth remains that the whole world is full of mess and Christ has called us to be a beacon of light here.
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. – Matthew 5:14
Intolerant attitudes has deprived a lot of people of future partners, be it in business, ministry or marriage. The worst that can happen is to be deprived the opportunity of preaching to a ‘sinner’ because of your attitude a few hours ago. You were intolerant to that guy yesterday in the public bus, today you are prompted by the spirit to preach to a certain man you are seeing but you just can’t because he is with that guy of yesterday. This is why the Bible admonishes us in Romans 12:18:
If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. – Romans 12:18
Yinka Ogunnubi, an author, a trainer and public speaker shared the importance of avoiding unnecessary conflicts on twitter using his personal experience. See the thread below:
Interesting thread wasn’t it? So next time before you react remember Romans 12:18 and overlook minor provocations that could cost you bigger opportunities.
I will leave you with a very profound scripture in the book of Proverbs which happens to be our ‘Scripture of The Day’ too.
He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, And he who rules his spirit, than he who captures a city. – Proverbs 16:32
